About cypARTS

WHO WE ARE

We are a team of experienced and qualified professional artists and creative practitioners that have vast experience of working with children and young adults in a variety of educational and non educational settings. We are passionate about art and all things creative. We want to share our passion and knowledge and inspire our future generations by delivering inspirational and inventive art activities to children and young people that will nurture and inspire creativity.

Our Key Initiatives are to..

  • Develop self expression, confidence and self-esteem.
  • Encourage team-work, co-operation and communication.
  • Enhance awareness of art forms, other cultures and use of art techniques.
  • Provide a fun, worthwhile and memorable experience.
  • Enrich curriculum learning.

We work closely with professional bodies and organisations, drawing on knowledge, skills and research to enhance our own understanding and practice of working with children. We are dedicated to professional development of our company's practice, ethos, and program through continuous training and development.

Creative Director

Catherine Campbell

Catherine works as a visual artist and arts practitioner; working in a wide range of educational and public settings. After completing her fine art degree she successfully completed a Masters degree in Arts Management whilst working as a self employed artist. After teaching children in South Korea for a year she returned to the UK to continue her art practice.
In 2008 she launch ArtBugs - an artist led provider of art activity for children, successfully delivering numerous successful art projects in formal (curriculum) and informal (out of hours) learning settings. In 2010 she opened the ArtBug Studio, which she runs alongside several other established professional artists and art practitioners. Catherine is a trained arts award advisor and specialises in painting techniques, sculpture and mied media. CYP Arts was launched in 2013 as an expansion of ArtBugs and its offer of accessible arts provision for children and young people.

Alongside looking after her own two children, Catherine continues her own art practice regulary exhibiting and and selling her paintings on an international scale.

Sarah Bednarek

Sarah works for CYP Arts part time cordinating our various clubs, events, PPA art cover, workshops and parties. Sarah ensures all our practitoners are happy and our events and classes run smoothly. She has a background in textiles and design and also runs her own Reiki practice in Rawdon as well as looking after her two children. To contact Sarah email - sarah@cyp-arts.co.uk

Danielle

Danni joined the CYP Arts team in 2013, following a 6 month volunteer placement with ArtBugs in 2013 following a year of extensive training she now works for CYP Arts as one of our Art Practitioners. Danni is a recent fine art graduate from Leeds Metropolitian University and specialises in photography as well as other visual art forms.

Alison

Alison works with CYP Arts on as part time basis delivering ArtBugs Saturday art club and workshops. She specialises in digital media and works as a full time as Project Manager for a digital media company. She has been involved in delivering local, national and international digital media projects working closely with schools, children and young people in a variety of settings.

Lee (Monk)

Hip Hop kultural preservationist, educator and self taught Artist who specialises in Sculpture, digital design, illustration and fine arts across the spectrum. with over 15 years in the field of education. Monks experience in design, illustration and print is extensive with a vast array of clientele.

Katie

Katie has recently joined our team as an Assistant Creative Practitioner. She is currently studying Fine Art at York University.. Katies specialises in drawing and painting and has previous experience of working at various art centres and Yorkshire Scultpure Park

Sarah

Sarah has extensive workshop skills in all art forms but specialises in photography. She is the curator for an ongoing art exhibition project HOARD and has worked in various play work and creative facilitation roles. Sarah has a degree in photography and a Masters in Fine Arts.</td>

Musurat

Musarat graduated in 2003 with a BSc Hons in Textile Design. She began freelancing as a community artist in 2004 for Bradford Museums & Galleries on a Textile community project. In 2005 she worked as Museums Officer - Communities & Outreach and continued her work as a freelance artist. Musarat has over 7 years of experience working in schools & community settings. Her specialist area is textiles including batik and silk painting and is a trained arts award advisor.

Sarah

Sarah is a practicing artist, creative practitioner & educator, extensively trained in a wide range of media. She is an experience art and design teacher familiar with the national curriculum. Sarah is a trained arts award advisor for all 5 arts award qualifications.

Gemma

Gemma is a professional artist specialising in drawing. She is a trained teacher working in key stages 3 and 5 at secondary school and as experience working within the education team with primary school pupils.

 

Amy

Amy is a qualified primary school teacher working with key stage 1 children. She will working with us at various art clubs, workshops and events especially oevr the school holidays.

Hannah

Hannah has vast experience of working in various creative provision for children. She has a fine art degree, specalising in watercolour painting and textiles.

Hazel

Hazel is one of our Creative Assistants and has recently joined our team. She is currently studying at Leeds College of Art. She will working at various weeekend and school holiday workshops.
